I have lately immersed myself in The Lord of the Rings world. I just finished reading The Hobbit, so, naturally, we binged watched all three movies. Although Tauriel is not found in the book, I found the spirit of Tolkien alive in her character within the movies. One of my favorite lines came from her as she is speaking to Legolas:
"It is our fight. It will not end here. With every victory this evil will grow. If your father has his way, we will do nothing. We will hide within our walls, live our lives away from the light and let darkness descend. Are we not part of this world? Tell me, mellon, when did we let evil become stronger than us?"
