"Work Day"
Today I did everything backwards--
Over an apocalyptic eruption of dinos and cars, I stepped
Away from “urgent” deadlines
I declined their call
Sipping tea, perusing poetry,
Baking peanut butter and chocolate bars
[For tonight’s reunion will be sweet.]
I am seeking peace over prosperity
Because that’s work too.
