Fun with Photography

Updated: Nov 2, 2020

Last weekend was a whirlwind! We had a lot of places we had to be and we were finding ourselves a little drained. Ryan and I have been trying to sneak more creative time in, so in our little free time we had some fun with his beast of a camera.

Ryan is the photographer. I am not. I've often oscillated between wanting to be able to take pretty photos and becoming really impatient, handing him the camera "here you take it!" But it started this past weekend when I wanted to take photos for Art Gallery Fabric's giveaway (which I won!! But that's another post for another time). He was showing me the different settings on his camera and how to edit the photos in Lightroom. Which sparked me wanting to take pics of other sewing projects. The next morning, the light was streaming in so perfectly through our living room windows, I couldn't resist trying to take some photos of an embroidery project that I completed a few years back!

I set up, shot the photos and edited these all by myself! I was super excited about this. I'm dying to complete more small sewing projects so I can do some more of this. -Which works out perfectly because lately, I've been dreaming of setting up an Etsy shop of sorts with handmade home decor items- tea towels, potholders, etc that I could incorporate some patchwork, embroidery, and fun trim in to. We shall see! Once we finish getting the nursery set up, I'll have a little more time to work on such things (we are currently in the process of painting it this weekend-yay!)

We also stole away last weekend to the local lake for about an hour and took some pictures then too. Ryan wanted to start a Shutterstock account so it gave him the perfect opportunity to take some stock photos, and give us a restful outing. I took these two photos and he also grabbed some of me (gotta document that baby bump!)

Isn't he the handsomest? Taken the day before his 32nd birthday <3

A couple days before the 20 week mark. Starting to look like there is something in there ;)

And now it is time to get back to painting the nursery... :)
